About the Artist

I combine two worlds on one canvas.

When I was 15, I discovered my passion for art, kind of on the run. As one of the first graffiti artist in Miami, I expressed my art wherever I could, whenever I could. It cost me a lot of money…those cans were not cheap! That was 35 years ago.

Then, I discovered the Great Masters who sparked my creativity in a different way.

And today, I combine the art I made with a can and the art I make with a brush to create two worlds on one canvas.

I create because He created me first

When I was in elementary school I won 3rd place in the Smile America Statewide Poster Contest. From that time forward I never stopped drawing. I went to high school in an area you would not want to send your kids today, but I was excited because they offered an art class which was always full.

The outdoors became my art class. Walls, freight trains, and buildings all became my canvas. My crew was one of the first in Miami and then I got my break…

I got into the art class.

I learned to sketch and was introduced to the great masters. Da Vinci & Michelangelo grabbed ahold of my imagination. I found a new home for my art – from the streets of Miami to a high school classroom.

I never had the chance to finish high school, but wanted to get my diploma so that I could go to college. While attending my GED classes, I took art classes again. Both my art and wood craft teachers suggested I speak with someone at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. I showed up on a Wednesday – without an appointment – and was told to return that Friday for an open house. I showed up with my portfolio. A dean asked to see it and asked me to come back on Monday to see him. He believed there was a place for me in his school. I was accepted on a full scholarship and started classes the following semester.

Today I work in my studio, doing what I love most: combining two worlds on one canvas.
